NESC Educators & Technology Fair
In June of 2010, area educators attended the Educators & Technology Fair at Hibbing Community College. The event was an opportunity to showcase technology. Gold sponsors for the event included Citon Computer Corp and Cisco.
Steven Dastoor of Citon Computer Corp kicked off the event with the keynote address. His message about technology was a good start to the day-long tech fair.
Following the keynote address, attendees had an opportunity to browse the exhibit hall. Innovation was key as vendors highlighted the latest gadgets and cutting-edge technology.
Also featured during the event, was an educators and tech panel. Leaders in education and technology provided information to the audience. Attendees had a chance to ask questions and learn from some of those who have watched technology evolve over the years.
Representatives from BG Innovations and Compass Learning, which were silver sponsors for the tech fair, spoke about their products and involvement in technology during the luncheon.

NESC Executive Director Paul Brinkman and Director of IT at NESC Lyle MacVey provided an overview of the Northeast Minnesota Middle Mile Fiber project, the broadband infrastructure prjoect that will create a backbone of 915 miles of fiber across eight counties in northeast Minnesota. Tiffany Anderson coordinated the tech event.
A mobility seminar by Apple provided learning opportunities with the iPad and iPod touch as the world changes with 21st Century students. This session focused on the tools to meet their challenges and using technology anywhere - anytime.
Attendees gathered in the exhibit hall for door prizes and a last look at technology for the day. The closing session was sponsored by ByteSpeed, bronze sponsor.
